El aumento de la dimensi\u00f3n de las turbinas e\u00f3licas, particularmente el aumento de la altura de la torre y la longitud de las palas, incrementa considerablemente su flexibilidad estructural. En ese sentido, un sistema de monitoreo en tiempo real, aut\u00f3nomo e inal\u00e1mbrico, capaz de evaluar la integridad estructural de las turbinas e\u00f3licas, puede ser una herramienta muy \u00fatil a la hora de realizar mantenimiento y la predicci\u00f3n de fallas.<\/p>\n      <p>El innovador dise\u00f1o de este dispositivo maximiza la energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica generada a partir de las vibraciones, produciendo la densidad de potencia necesaria para la alimentaci\u00f3n de sensores inal\u00e1mbricos. A diferencia de las fuentes convencionales de energ\u00eda como las bater\u00edas (que deben ser recargadas o bien eliminadas y sustituidas), este sistema no requiere mantenimiento. De este modo, el aporte concreto de este plan se ver\u00eda reflejado, no s\u00f3lo en el \u00e1mbito local sino que contribuir\u00eda con algunos de los elementos faltantes en la discusi\u00f3n cient\u00edfica internacional acerca de la posible utilizaci\u00f3n de esta tecnolog\u00eda en beneficio de estructuras m\u00f3viles como los aerogeneradores.<\/p>\n      <p>Las soluciones actuales proponen la utilizaci\u00f3n de sensores integrados dentro de la pala, los cuales son alimentados por cables o bater\u00edas. Sin embargo, la utilizaci\u00f3n de cables presenta algunas desventajas asociadas al incremento del peso de las palas, costos de cableados y complicaciones en la conexi\u00f3n debido al movimiento de rotaci\u00f3n (Esu et al. [1]). Por otro lado, en el caso de las bater\u00edas o pilas, su uso incrementa los costos de mantenimiento asociado a su reemplazo.
